Half Gyro Gearloose comic strip and half mad scientist team, the Señor Serrano Company was founded in 2006 in Barcelona and develops works using an unusually constructed narrative device. Visually, they mix plastic characters, scale models and video technologies to create projected images to which the actors add special effects, sound effects, and live and electronic music. It’s a sort of an animated curiosity cabinet that they couple with international events to question the themes of the contemporary world.
Deeply irreverent, Señor Serrano brings us Kingdom, a wild cocktail of bananas, King Kong, consumption, viril choreographies, publicity, punk rock, supermarkets, growth, disorder, expansion, multinationals, lack of resources, coups d’états, zoophilia, Slavoj Zizek, trap music and macho men kissing on the mouth in an endless party.
