Nous ne sommes plus…
Tatiana Frolova
A play that bears witness to the daily struggle of a family of committed artists.
Tatiana Frolova and her troupe left their country, Russia, the day after Russia invaded Ukraine. Now in exile in France, the company is trying to pick up the pieces of this shattered existence. How do you fit into a suitcase thirty-seven years of life devoted to the theatre?
Now in exile, KnAM Theatre* continues to denounce and resist. Drawing on documentary material – childhood memories, life stories, testimonies, personal experiences – Nous ne sommes plus... unrolls like a carpet of which each thread, each little individual story is unique and occupies an essential place that links it to the others.
A show that questions the loss of meaning endured by the inhabitants of a sprawling and aggressive country, the unfulfilled dream of a better society.
*KnAM Theatre, the first private theatre created in the Soviet Union in 1985 by Tatiana Frolova and a group of kindred spirits, quickly became an experimental stage for contemporary theatre.
