Via Injabulo
Via Katlehong
Marco da Silva Ferreira
Amala Dianor
The Via Katlehong company is the leading exponent of pantsula, a highly energetic dance that originated in the black townships of South Africa. For this show, the company is collaborating with two leading names in European contemporary dance: rising Portuguese star Marco da Silva Ferreira and French-Senegalese Amala Dianor. Created for eight South African dancers in perfect cohesion, Via Injabulo, which means ‘joy’ in Zulu, revisits this traditional dance that emerged to challenge the oppression and misery of apartheid, transforming it into an ode to life, youth and hop
