Louise et la révolte des jardins
Un épisode du Bal du nouveau monde
Ring Théâtre
Inspired by Brecht’s popular theatre, the young collective Ring Théâtre presents a post-apocalyptic trilogy against the backdrop of a social and epic fresco. Louise et la révolte des jardins is one episode of this fresco.
Louise is a postwoman in a provincial town. The allotments behind her grandmother’s house are in danger of being paved over for an eco-district project. In this secluded green area, humans and non-humans still live happily, far from the din of the city and machines. Not far away, there is Lenny, a newly arrived market gardener already threatened by the brutality of the agro-industrial system.
But Louise is not used to being pushed around. She’s not going to give up her world to the voracity of the developers. From community gardens to town-planning meetings, from administrative tribunals to barricades, from a promise of sustainable development to a garden revolt, progress may not be where we expect it to be.
