Toujours l’eau – Juillet 2021
Caroline Lamarche
Françoise Deprez
« We stayed on land, it’s okay. But always water, that's all we see. I go out, I see water, in the yard, in the street, always water. The others, they only see the pictures, but in my head, it's real. We live with it. »
Toujours l'eau - Juillet 2021 is the result of the immersion of novelist Caroline Lamarche and photographer Françoise Deprez for ten months in the valleys of the Ourthe and the Vesdre. With audio and visual material taken on the spot and up close and personal with their subjects, it renders visible in the form of a slide show with voice narration, the daily life of the survivors of the floods of July 2021 in Belgium.
Toujours l'eau - Juillet 2021, is also an eponymous book published by éditions du Caïd and an exhibition Toujours l’eau that was previously presented at La Cité Miroir in Liège, in 2022.
