J’ai des lettres, mais j’ai pas de culotte
Peggy Lee Cooper
The Great Lyrics are all very well, but little gems and slightly smutty oddities will also do.
With her legendary finesse (or lack thereof...), her trucker's voice and her 10cm heels, Peggy Lee Cooper is going to attempt a perilous exercise: bringing together in a recital authors that couldn’t be more disparate.
Can you sing Barbara after Annie Cordy?
Can you sing Piaf and Julio Iglésias together?
Can you recite Cora Vaucaire and Grand Jojo with the same verve?
Can you sing of Sadomasochism and the sexuality of the Swiss in the same breath?
Accompanied by her faithful Grand Malade, a faintly dodgy, mustachioed man who recites poetry like you change your sheets: 4 times a year; they will mix up a cocktail of the “great” authors and “little” geniuses of musical literature.
A recital all in French, with grace, plenty of irreverence, and just a hint of vulgarity to add flavor. And a beautiful dress. A very, VERY beautiful dress.
