Jours de fête

→ Marchin

06 > 08.09.2024

There is an element of indescribable freedom to the Jours de fête: these festive days extend the summer while opening the season. This year, they find their most natural expression in Marchin, in the Province of Liège, the site of a possible regeneration of theatre in the greenness of nature. Latitude 50 - Pôle des arts du cirque et de la rue and the Théâtre National Wallonie-Bruxelles invite us to come and go along verdant paths that take us off the beaten track. The centre is everywhere: in the big top with its gnarled wood, in the freshness of the grass you can touch with your hands, on the banks of the tranquil river Hoyoux, in a concerto of greenery you can stroll through.

Our horizon is one of multiplicity in perpetual metamorphosis, made up of new collaborations and the circulation of Walloon, Brussels and international artists, and of artistic forms stemming from a wide range of roots. It is a way of regreening the creative process in a flow of surprises and simple pleasures, a way of becoming through contact with others.

In the face of ongoing social and political change, thinking about the way we live, with our bodies and through the theatre, means putting the question to other audiences, other places where our lives are rooted and where they intermingle.

By committing to a policy of partnership between the Brussels and Walloon theatres on issues of environmental responsibility, solidarity and reciprocal relationships, we can explore and celebrate new hospitable ramifications as well as innovative fluidities and sensitivities while creating lasting links and a theatre whose stages can branch out anywhere. So as to play a positive and beneficial role in nurturing a living culture in which all beings are equally important.
