La Cosa
Claudio Stellato
Four cubic metres of wood, four individuals, and four axes.
A comprehensive experimentation around a single material, wood, and all the facets of human interaction.
Using a physical language that sometimes reaches the limits of the human body, the men on stage use logs to build or destroy shapes. Between a series of games and ceremonies the precision of which must be respected, La Cosa (The Thing) essentially deals with the interaction between man and nature.
A jack of all creative trades, artist Claudio Stellato has created a striking performance mixing installation, dance and contemporary circus. Through this brawny, energetic performance, La Cosa, which has garnered both public and critical praise since its creation in 2015, explores the interaction between man and object in a surprisingly poetic choreography.
