Ce qui donne corps
Jorge León
To open the season at Les Halles de Schaerbeek, Jorge León has created the ambulatory play Brûler for Lucy the Australopithecus. A play where time, spaces and bodies touch, indifferent to borders and boundaries. As part of the Lundis en coulisse series, author, director and film-maker Jorge León will highlight, without hierarchy or division, the richness to be found in writings that weren’t directly intended ‘for the stage’.
Based on an original idea by the artist and the team of the Théâtre National, this is the idea underlying the public meeting Ce qui donne corps: choose three texts from among literature, cinema and the human and social sciences; give two texts to art school students to read and dance in the light of day in the Theatre, and one text to be read live to the audience. An opportunity for the audience to discover the source materials that have aroused the interest and curiosity of the artists and that seek to tackle artistic practices and the stage in new ways.

Les Lundis en coulisse
Promoting new dramatic writings among theatre professionals. Bringing contemporary plays to the attention of directors and actors. Les Lundis en coulisse offer professionals in the performing arts - actors, directors, dramatists, translators - and amateurs the opportunity to come together to discover texts chosen by the guest of the day. The guest presents three plays that will be read aloud. Each reading is followed by a discussion and an exchange of ideas. The partners take turns hosting these gatherings.
