Sentinelles
Jean-François Sivadier
Mathis, Swan and Raphaël are three young virtuoso pianists united by an indissoluble friendship. As they move from adolescence to adulthood, their friendship is gradually put to the test around what brought them together in the first place: their love of music. Facing each other in an international piano competition, the trio splits up as they launch themselves at each other in the face of a sublime but sometimes elitist art.
The staging strikes a delicate balancing act, orchestrating a profound reflection on the nature of art and the way in which it shapes our lives.
Desires, fears and ambitions torment the young artists, creating an exhilarating breeze as well as a whirlwind of violence. In this commotion, the director doesn’t choose sides but rather splits perspectives in a bid to explore from every angle the individual relationship that each artist has with the world.
