Theatre

Marion Siéfert looks for theatre where you least expect it. To portray our increasingly virtual lives, she creates a vertiginous world where it is difficult to separate fiction from reality.

In real life, Mara is thirteen years old. She dreams of becoming an actress. As she waits to realize her project, she leads a dreary existence in a small housing estate in the suburbs of Perpignan, with a family plagued by money problems. She escapes by playing video games – role-plays in which dozens of players meet online. The avatar she uses comes across the avatar of a man twice her age. Julien leads a perfect life and, more importantly, he takes an interest in Mara and offers to help her realize her dream. Little by little, the light-hearted game will turn into a nightmare …

Inspired by the ‘sugar daddy’ phenomenon (wealthy men who spend money on young girls in order to dominate them sexually) and by testimonies of young girls abused on social networks, the French performer and director offers us a powerful reflection on youth.
