Contes défaits

Reading fairy tales

Do you like offbeat and delirious fairy tales, on the verge of a nervous breakdown? Discover Contes défaits ! The four tales - Les deux sœurs, La fée cassée et le mauvais génie, La fée Kai and Le renard plat -, spring from the colorful imagination of Claire Olirencia Deville.

As far as the story, there are two sisters who try to keep the kingdom afloat despite their mother's setbacks and major money worries. There are also undocumented mermaids, a fairy assigned elf at birth, a completely flat fox, and a genie stuck in his lamp.

At heart, there is an urgency to tell stories that put at the center of the action « characters who are racialized, queer, disabled, with bodies that do not correspond to the norms of the media diktat », enthuses the author. What fun!
