Traditionally, the Golem is an artificial, humanoid being, fashioned from clay to come to its creator’s aid.

In this instance, it is a plasticine figure which is given by its inventor to a friend. By turns slave or pet, this new-style Golem only uses slogans to express itself, as if everything started with the first syllable of its name (“go”!). In the end, it disappears into the first letters of Google.

Inverting dominance relationships, the mascot soon drives its master to the brink of insanity, making him a slave of the consumer society. A cross between silent film and animation, cabaret and cartoon, this production is full of baseline jokes written by Suzanne Andrade and Paul Barritt, whose actors, lacking any spirt of rivalry, maintain a constant dialogue with the images to the point of merging with them.

Suitable for Children? The show is quite dark and contains a few light swear words and some jokes which might go over the heads of younger children. However the piece is suitable for mature children aged 12 and upward, if accompanied by parents or guardians.
