Pasionaria
Marcos Morau, La Veronal
An intriguing futuristic universe, both strange and poetic, inhabited by bustling, robotic, dislocated creatures who seem to have lost their emotions and desires. This scenography of studied perfection, with cold colors and a removed aesthetic takes us to somewhere between an airport hall and a multinational’s warehouse. What humanity is left within these characters? What do they feel? The contortions of their bodies, the jerky movements, do they reveal a game or suffering?
With his company La Véronal, Marcos Morau pursues a transversal choreographic work fed by many forms of expression, from movies to the plastic arts via literature. Regarding his dancers with the focus of an entomologist, he explores the mechanisms of passion and questions the notion of progress. Pasionara asks questions to better grasp the enigma of our compulsions, obsessions and loves.
