Nassim

Nassim Soleimanpour

27.04 > 01.05.2021

Every evening, a different actor gets up on stage with the Iranian playwright Nassim Soleimanpour and discovers for the first time a script placed in a sealed box. With no rehearsal and no director, guided only by the author’s instructions live via video, the actor interprets the text while they discover it along with the audience.

Refused permission to leave Iran for many years before ultimately settling in Berlin, Nassim Soleimanpour imagined plays that could be performed without him. This was the idea behind his White Rabbit, Red Rabbit, which has been performed more than 1000 times around the world by artists as diverse as Whoopi Goldberg, Ken Loach or Charles Berling. Now that he is able to travel with his shows, Nassim Soleimanpour immerses his audiences in a new theatre experience that is bold and inventive.

Thanks to the personal yet universal dimensions of his text - a story that resembles his own - and thanks to the unpredictability of the staging, an incredible bond is created between the stage and the audience. A true immersion in the art of storytelling, Nassim is a philosophical tale which contains, between the lines, a meditation on exile and a demonstration of language as a vector of division, but above all of unity.
