Wandering memories

Imagine a small, seedy hotel.
Think of this hotel as being one of the characters of the story about to be written.
Perhaps one could say that it is the Place for wandering memories, for the Vagrancy of the Hippocampus.
Four people find themselves in the hotel without really knowing why.
They all seem to be suffering from a blackout and don’t quite remember what happened before…Before what exactly? An accident? An emotional trauma? A skull fracture? A stroke? An encephalopathy?
Unless they are all dreaming?
Each one tries to put back together all the pieces of the past, of a possible past.

After L’Herbe de l’oubli (Best Show at the Maeterlinck Awards 2018) Jean-Michel d’Hoop and the Cie Point Zéro examine memory, one of humankind’s most fascinating endeavors. From the personal to the universal, memory helps to create human identity, following its history, its uniqueness.

Through a show that combines theatre, music, dance and movement, in which puppets and masks enrich the scenic language, L’Errance de l’Hippocampe explores the fragile, profound and secret parts of memory and highlight the hazy area where it meets the dream state. It’s an invitation to commit to a visual, sensitive, and emotional path; to create one’s personal image of the invisible; to discover other prisms of reality.
